Portside Boulders Willetton

Love this local bouldering place. All, I mean ALL, the staff there are super helpful and friendly. My kids loved the holiday programme. Kris did a fantastic job. And to all, that I don’t know your names, thanks for making us feel welcomed!! Oh, and the cafe has fantastic selection of food, smoothies, good coffee and local items. An amazing spot to climb, social and just be.

Portside Willeton is a great little climbing gym. While it doesn't seem to have the same amount of wall space as O'Connor or Osborne Park, it's generally got plenty of fun climbs for beginners (can't comment on v4+). The recently installed aircon is just what this venue needed to make it more enjoyable in the hotter months. Staff are friendly and approachable.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good learning options for beginners, well priced membership. Support LGBTQIA+ climbers, & also run a monthly event for female-identifying & non-binary climbers.

Great gym, probably better for beginners than if your looking for a variety of harder routes, maybe some hard V7s but nothing I could see in the “black” gradeBoth portside boulders were super friendly, great staff and shops/bar which was a cool novelty, the grading system though can be an absolute mind melter with a loose colour wheel system that goes with the colour tags rather than the holds, which lead to some very weird conversations of “that green red one over here” and “that red guy with the green tags?” I understand the concept but personally prefer a loose system to be based on something universal everyone can understand like “v3-5” or “6a-6c” ect..

Pretty cool local gym, smaller than the other locations but my favourite in routes and vibe. Had problems with billing at the beginning but eventually sorted out and been great since
